One of our
wonderful airport volunteers has offered to
give you a lift to and from the office for a modest gasoline contribution.
Please call the office the day before your appointment and let me
know when you will arrive. I will in turn call Darryl and
let him know to meet you the next day at the aerodrome.
All else fails, we will come out and get you.
Driving time about 10-12 minutes.
Helicopters welcome.
There is a 3A mowed area surrounded by 100' trees. A 180' radio
tower about 400' to the SE. Landmark: large house and two large
outbuildings in trees, 1A pond on west side of house. Just east of SR
247, ~1.9 NM south of center of Hillsboro. GPS coordinates (to front door
of offce):
N 39.10.54
W 83.36.35
You are welcome to fly in however breezy conditions would make it a bit
dicey. An OH-58, R-22, R-44, and a couple of Schweitzer 300's have been in.
If in doubt, recommend landing at HOC and driving.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM AIRPORT TO OFFICE:
Turn right out of the Highland County airport onto North Shore Drive.
Approximately ½ mile you will "tee" into St. Rte. 124 at a stop sign.
Turn right and drive about three miles into Hillsboro.
You will come to a yellow blinking light where SR 124 joins US Rte 50 -- turn left (west) onto US Rte 50 (also called Main Street)
Drive west ~three blocks to the first traffic light and get in the left turn lane. This intersection is EAST STREET
Turn left. It is the road we are located on. Continue on downhill south four blocks to another traffic light. (It will become St Rte 247 at the bottom of the hill at the light. ODOT has seen fit to take down the route marker signs on East St.-- go figger!)
DO NOT make any turns, continue straight ahead 1½ miles from this light.
We are the first entrance on the left AFTER you cross Rocky Fork Creek bridge. There is a sign, some white fence corners, and a paved drive.
The office is located on the pond end of the house. You may park at the bottom of the sidewalk.
